Poi, al solito, mentre un pulcino asciuga... perché non iniziare a disegnarne un altro?

Finalmente ho messo da parte la tavoletta grafica e mi sono concessa un rilassante pomeriggio (non molto rilassante per mio marito che ha dovuto badare al bambino) con acquerelli, matite e pastelli a cera. E ne sono molto soddisfatta!

Manca quasi un mese a Natale e la prima cosa che mi viene in mente, per deformazione professionale, è che devo preparare le X-Mas Card. In realtà quest'anno ho in mente qualcosa di un po' diverso ma non ne parlerò fino a lavoro finito.. quindi accontentatevi di questa anteprima!

Se amo la toscana, la collina e la bruschetta è grazie a questo piccolo paesino. "Disteso come un vecchio addormentato" lungo l'Abetone, è stato uno dei posti della mia infanzia.. per l'esattezza il paese che ha dato i natali alla parte materna della mia famiglia.
Pur avendoci passato pochi week end all'anno, è uno dei posti a cui sono più affezionata.
Se siete in toscana, vi consiglio vivamente di farci un salto e di esplorare tutta la zona.. vedrete molto più di queste tre case :)

p.s. Si, ho ritratto solo tre case nonostante ci fossero scorci più belli. Ma ero in vacanza... e se già sono pigra durante tutto il resto dell'anno... figuratevi ad agosto!

If I love tuscany, hill and bruschetta it's thanks to this little village. "Lying as an old sleeping man", on the Abetone mount, is a my childhood place.. the place where my mom's family came form.
Even if I used to go there just few times a year, is a place that i love.
If are you going to tuscany I advise you to spend a few days in the nearby Abetone.. it's a nice area, and you'll see more than these tree houses :)

p.s. Yep, i drew just three houses even if there are nicest views. But i was on vacation.. and if I can say i'm lazy during all the year,   go figure when it's august!

è così che più o meno mi sento. è domenica e, come molte altre persone, sono molle come un budino. Natale incombe ed i regali sono li, nella mia testa, in attesa del "VIA! All'opera!!!". A dir la verità ci sono altri progetti che poco a poco prendono forme sempre più dettagliate nella mia testa e so che se non li metto "matita su carta" potrei dimenticarmene o, peggio, farmi venire un terribile mal di testa.

Però è domenica.

Mi sa che ne riparliamo domani!

Yes, this is how I feel. It's sunday and, as many people, I'm feeling as squashy as a pudding. X-Mas is coming and presents are ready in my mind, waiting for the "LET'S GO!". Honestly there are many other projects that are "work in progress" and every day take more detail.. and I know that if I don't write them down I'll forget them or, even worse, they'll cause me awfull headaches!
But.. it's Sunday.
We'll talk about it tomorrow!

Questo disegno arriva dal Moleskine che ho spedito ormai tre mesi fa a Brooklyn, presso la Art House Co-op.
Quando l'ho chiuso, dopo aver colorato la copertina all'ultimo minuto, ho tirato un sospiro di sollievo. L'avventura di questo concorso già non era cominciata benissimo: scoprii il concorso tramite un link sul blog di Roba da disegnatori ed era piuttosto tardi... tergiversai causa via vai di muratori in casa mia, un po' anche per le mie paturnie esistenziali e quando mi iscrissi lo sketchbook si fece attendere per tre settimane. In sostanza: meno di un mese per finire tutto. Procedetti a passo spedito finchè, dopo capodanno, mi resi conto che a casa mia c'era solo un sacchetto con la roba da disegno ma non lo sketchbook.. Sopraggiunsero quindi panico e non poche imprecazioni fino a quando, rassegnata al fatto che anche se lo avessi ritrovato non avrei potuto realizzare i disegni come volevo, mi capitò sotto mano il trolley con cui ero andata a casa dei miei sotto le feste... Ovviamente il moleskine era li. Passai un'ora a soppesare se rassegnarsi ad aver buttato 25 $ o se perdere la salute e finirlo in pochi giorni; ovviamente il insano modo di pensare mi spinse a finirlo in poco tempo a discapito di sonno e muscolatura delle dita.. ma fu così che la mia piccola opera giunse negli USA (non l'ho incrociato per poco visto che la settimana di esposizione a NY era quella prima del mio arrivo). 

This Drawing is taken from Moleskyne i’ve sent to Art house Co-op in Brooklyn, about 3 months ago.

When I finished it, after colouring the cover at last minute, I’ve had a sigh of relief. The Moleskyne adventure had not begun easily: I came to know about the contest from a “Roba da disegnatori” blog, and it was quite late... I wasted time due to some annoying works in my house, not to mention my existential whims, and after i signed up it took another three weeks to arrive. That means: less than one month to finish it and send it back.

I worked very quickly on it until, after winter holidays, i noticed that my sketchbook wasn’t where it was supposed to be.. it was gone! After that i had my moments of panic and i was surrendered to the fact that even if i found it i couldn’t finish it on time. Then one day i put my hands in the bag i used when i went my parents home for holiday... Guess what? My Sketchbook was in there! I Spent one hour wondering whether i wasted 25 $ or i was going to lose my health to finish it in a few days. Of course i went for the second. So my little “opera” got in the USA on time... and all lived happily ever after :)
